Content Editorial Policy
Cheapinsurance.com‘s goal is to provide the most helpful, highest quality insurance guides to consumers. Our focus is to create unbiased, and accurate resources that help consumers make informed insurance decisions. Our content teams are composed of experienced editors and licensed insurance agents and experts to achieve our goal of researching insurance industry trends, updates to regulations, and how these many elements impact consumers.
While we do partner with a number of insurance companies, we maintain complete editorial independence. Our reviews of our partners’ products are entirely our own. As CheapInsurance.com is an insurance marketplace, we are not tied to any one insurance company, allowing us to provide unbiased reviews and trustworthy guidance based in data and insurance expertise.
Cheapinsurance.com's editorial process
Each of CheapInsurance.com’s insurance guides, and topical articles are written with the consumer in mind. We rely not only upon the expertise of our writers, but also the collective knowledge of professional organizations and industry studies to support our content. Research is a key part of our writing process, and our stringent standards require that every article be reviewed and fact-checked by multiple experts to make certain that we provide high-quality, accurate and easy-to-interpret resources.
As insurance regulations and laws change, we try to update content as quickly as possible, responding to input from experts and our own research to provide accurate, up-to-date information.
Information and sourcing standards
CheapInsurance.com seeks out and cites trustworthy sources within our resource pages, referencing surveys, studies, and data from government agencies, unbiased third-party sources and independent surveyors.
We use industry studies, reviews, and surveys from several national organizations including the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the Insurance Information Institute, and national consumer focused organizations like Consumer Reports, and J.D. Power, as well as investigatory and review data from publication sources like Forbes, Edmunds, and US News and World Reports. We also use data from government agencies, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Federal Highway Administration and the U.S. Census Bureau, and many individual State Insurance regulating agencies.
Our editorial review team also utilizes opinions from industry sources. We balance that by applying the analysis of our own insurance agency staff to provide an additional level of editorial review. The content we publish has been reviewed for accuracy by insurance experts, in an effort to bring accurate, trustworthy information, and resources to consumers.
Partnerships
As an insurance comparison tool, CheapInsurance.com partners with insurance companies, agencies, and aggregators to provide insurance quotes. While we receive commissions from these companies for ad clicks, we do not make recommendations based on this commission.
Our industry partnerships do not provide any factor into our content, or reviews – this assures that we maintain independence in our efforts to provide accurate information to consumers.
Privacy
CheapInsurance.com does not sell consumers’ information to outside companies. Through our partner platforms, we do not collect or retain any consumer personal information. However, some of our partner insurers do collect consumer information to provide accurate consumer insurance premium quotes, and they may reach out through email with a quote or other promotional materials to consumers who have opted-in, in order to receive an insurance policy quote.
